Monday morning I had an interview with the YMCA in my area and their preschool program. It was so amazing and I have all my fingers crossed for an acceptance call. I spent my morning in three separate daycare rooms with children 0 – 5 years old and it was one of the most fun times I’ve had in a long while. My first room was with 3 – 5 year olds and I read them books and learned about their room. They were so sweet and held my hands and pulled me around the room wanting to show me everything. I absolutely loved them and didn’t want to leave. One little girl asked if I was their new teacher, and I said “I hope so!” and she said “Me too!!” and my heart melted. My second room was with the infants and while I loved spending time with them they were so much quieter and a less face paced workspace. It was calming, but I think I enjoyed the older kids. I spent my last time there with some toddlers. The group I was with did some crafts and then went outside to read a book and have circle time. We then let the kids play in the rain for a second and run around. They were all so sweet and one little girl gave me a hug when I was leaving the last room. I just fell in love with all my little kids and I think the job position would be so fun and rewarding for myself and the students. Fingers all the way crossed.
