Corporal Punishment in Education

Corporal punishment is still being used in schools across the United States in 2021 and has little to no intention of stopping. This paper examines the effects of corporal punishment on children throughout their educational career.

This paper analyzes several sources and statistics to argue in favor of banning corporal punishment against children, in every circumstance on the basis of it being abuse. I review several personal stories and interviews as well as research on the effects and possible outcomes. The overwhelming amount of research favors corporal punishment being defined as child abuse.
